Swami Avdheshanand Giri at his ashram in Ambala

We visited Swamiji at his ashram in Ambala during Christmast. It was very cold but we got to spend some quality time with this most amazing man. He is the spiritual leader of the Juna Akhara, the oldest and largest constituency of renunciates in India. We met Swamiji at the Kumbh Mela in Ujjain and subsequently he came to our place and gave darshan at a satsang on a magical evening in the Hollywood Hills.  Swamiji is invoved in extensive humanitarian enterprises in addition to his duties as Acharya.

   Maharishi Goraksha
      Babaji Maharaj

We met Gorakh Baba at Pilot Baba's Samadhi in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh in 2003. He is a most reclusive rishi who has lived in 50 different caves throughout India.  We were most surprised when the fair skinned,  6 foot plus man who dressed like a character of Star Trek invited us to visit him in Nainital in the Himalayas. Babaji is believed to be several hundred years old, having remained for long periods in hibernation. Maharishi Gorakhsha Babaji is a living legend.

Yogi Shyam at his yoga
center in Pushkar

We met Yogi Shyam by chance in Pushkar. He teaches Raja and Kriya Yoga. He has been a disciple of Pilot Baba but as a young man, he was a schooled by Swami Satyananda the founder of the famous Bihar School of yoga. We did yoga with him  at 6:30 AM on the banks of the Pushkar Lake, a most spectacular site.
